Today I am starting a new series of blog posts featuring some of the fabulous venues in Myrtle Beach, and the surrounding area. Most venues have wonderful photos available online, but if you are planning a destination wedding, it can be difficult to visualize an actual wedding in the space. If you research dozens of locations, the information can blur together without visuals. My hope is the "Myrtle Beach Venues" blog entries will make your wedding planning a little bit easier.
Myrtle Beach is a beautiful location for a wedding, and hundreds of options are available. I have had the pleasure of providing wedding photography for several Myrtle Beach locations over the years.
My first post will have to be my favorite location, Atalaya. Atalaya Castle is located within the Huntington Beach State Park, in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. Why is Atalaya my favorite location? As a photographer, there are endless unique backdrops on the property to choose from. I seem to find a new favorite spot each time I go. The castle is a short walk to the beach, which also allows for convenient beach portraits, and Trash the Dress sessions. Huntington Beach is much less crowded than the beaches of Myrtle Beach, because it is a state park.
Here are a few wedding photographs I have taken at Atalaya.
